No. (Not yet, anyway) You should be able to still acrue rewards normally, and still use your card normally as well. Even your purchases now can be counted towards your next GM purchase (should you decide to make one).

If your card isn’t working, there may be another issue. A security hold, or some other reason. Call the company on the back of the card.
